Sharing The Dream
I stand where I have so firmly stood throughout this discussion. The American Dream is simply the freedom to dream and the oppurtunity to pursue that. Through the stereotypes of sex, race, and social status I truly believe that the real American Dream stands as a symbol of hope and happiness for anyone who just wants to reach out and grab it. It's not the American Dream because its a dream we all share, its called the American Dream because we share the freedoms to dream.

I'm glad you stand firmly, Briar. I especially like the last statement you made. You're defining the American Dream as "the freedom to dream." Nicely said.
ReplyDeleteI like the statement you made in class that the American dream is the freedom to dream, and the other contributions you have made on this discussion.
